Alblasserdam, Aug. 4, 2025 - Dutch IT company Klikonline has announced that it will migrate its entire e-mail infrastructure to servers physically located in the Netherlands. This move should provide improved speed, stability and - most importantly - better data protection for its customers.
The transition will take place on Wednesday evening, August 6, starting at 10 p.m. During this migration there may be a brief interruption of email services. Klikonline expects that the impact will be minimal and that most customers will not be affected by the transition.
"We want to offer our customers not only speed and stability, but also maximum control over their data," says Alex Knobbe of Klikonline. "By switching completely to Dutch servers, we keep the data within the country's borders, which also offers benefits in terms of privacy and compliance."
What does this mean for customers?
Most users do not have to do anything themselves. However, in some cases, email programs may give an error message regarding the SSL certificate after the migration. This is because the certificate needs to be re-linked to the e-mail client.
